Money Monday - generosity part 2

So, on Sunday nights at Nexus, we have been talking about generosity, and last week I mentioned that I was pondering wether or not I'm generous enough with our money.

I'm still thinking about that. Matt and I chatted about it a little last night and thought about actually budgeting in money to give away, He suggested that we should wait until our 3-6 month emergency fund is in place.

I mentioned last week how important I think it is to make sure your own family and household is taken care of before you can help others. That makes sense to me. The more stable I am, the better position I'm in to help others...but I want to do it now! I guess there's a lot of things I want to do with our money NOW but it only goes so far.

That said, I'm glad I'm thinking about generosity, and I'm really daydreaming of the day we can give a waitress a $100 tip...or sneak someone who's hurting a couple bags of groceries. That day will come in time.

On another note, OUR ATTIC DOOR IS IN!!!! I'm so excited. There's still a lot to do, but the door is installed and that's huge. So far we've spent about $185 on that. We need to re-insulate, put a floor down, get a cover for the inside of the door, and run electricity for a light up there. I'm hoping all that can be done for less than $325...and I'm hoping it gets done soon!
