Tips and Hints Tuesday - Save food when you think it's burnt

Have you ever made stew, soup, or sauce only to find that thick layer of burnt stuff stuck to the bottom?

What's the first thing you do?? YOU STIR IT RIGHT??? Oh the temptation....

If you find that you have this burnt bottom layer, resist the urge to stir the burnt up bits into the rest of your food (which is still okay) rendering it, inedible.

Pick up your sauce pan or stock pot and dump it into a clean bowl or pot leaving the caked on mess in the first pan.

Now you've successfully saved yourself from throwing away an entire pot of food!
